How do I update my bank account details?
Category: Your Account
You can update the bank account Kick Cashback pays your cashback to at any time from your account settings at kickpay.co. Changes save immediately and apply to every new payout you request from that point onwards. Existing payouts already in flight (the direct bank transfer takes 1-3 business days to settle) continue to the original account because the bank has already accepted them — only future payouts are affected.
Step-by-step
- Sign in at kickpay.co.
- Open the user menu in the top-right corner and choose Account settings.
- Find the Payout details section.
- Enter the new BSB (six digits, with or without the hyphen) and account number (typically six to ten digits depending on your bank).
- Optionally update the account name if it's different from the one on your previous account.
- Click Save. The change is applied straight away.
What happens to a payout that's already in progress?
If you've requested a payout but the bank transfer hasn't settled yet, the funds continue to the original bank account — the bank has already accepted the file and there's no way to recall it mid-flight. If you need to redirect a payout that hasn't settled, email info@kickcashback.com as soon as possible; the team can sometimes intercept a same-day request, but transfers more than a few hours old are usually unrecoverable.
Security and verification
Changing payout details is a sensitive action and we treat it that way. After a change, the next payout you request may require multi-factor authentication via the email or phone number on your account before it's released. This is a deliberate friction layer to prevent an attacker who has compromised your password from redirecting your cashback to their account. The MFA prompt clears once the new details have been used successfully on a payout.
Larger payouts (typically over $500) and payouts soon after a details change may also trigger an additional identity check under the AML/CTF Act 2006 — usually just confirming a recent piece of ID. Full claim limits explainer.
What if my new bank rejects the transfer?
bank transfers can be rejected for an invalid BSB, an invalid account number, an account that's closed, or an account name mismatch flagged by the receiving bank. When that happens, the funds bounce back to Kick within 2-3 business days and we automatically notify you by email. Correct the details in your settings, then request the payout again — it's a few minutes of inconvenience, no cashback is lost.
Can I have payouts split across two accounts?
Not directly — Kick pays out the full requested amount to a single nominated account. If you want to split, request two smaller payouts after each change of bank details, or request the full amount to one account and transfer half to the other from your bank's app.
