How long do payouts take?

Category: Payments & Claims

Once your cashback is Available to claim and you request a payout, the money lands in your nominated Australian bank account in 1-3 business days via BECS direct credit. This is the same channel the ATO uses for tax refunds and your employer uses for payroll, so it works with every Australian bank, building society and credit union.

Full timing from purchase to bank

  1. Click-through and purchase: cashback is Earned immediately.
  2. Pending stage: minutes to hours for most retail categories, 30-120 days for travel, insurance and subscriptions.
  3. Available to claim: as soon as Pending clears.
  4. You request a payout: takes about 30 seconds in your dashboard at kickpay.co.
  5. BECS transfer: 1-3 business days to your bank account.

Why "business days" matters

BECS only processes Monday to Friday, excluding national public holidays. A payout requested on a Friday afternoon will typically settle on Tuesday or Wednesday. A payout requested before 4pm on a Monday usually settles by Wednesday. Holiday weekends (Easter, Christmas/New Year, ANZAC Day) can add a day.

What slows a payout down?

  • Wrong BSB or account number: the bank rejects the transfer and we re-issue it. Add 2-3 business days.
  • First payout from a new account: often subject to a fraud check that takes 1-2 business days.
  • Claims over $500 or those flagged by fraud detection: require multi-factor authentication before release.
  • Public holidays in your state or nationally: BECS doesn't run.
  • Bank-side processing delays: rare, but some smaller banks process incoming BECS only once per day.

Are there fees on the payout?

No. Kick doesn't charge for BECS payouts to Australian accounts, and your bank doesn't charge for receiving an incoming BECS credit. The full amount you requested lands in your account.

Can I get paid via PayPal or gift card?

Kick payouts are direct bank transfer only. We don't offer PayPal, gift cards or cryptocurrency payouts — direct bank is faster, cheaper and doesn't expose your funds to a third-party platform's terms.

What's the minimum amount I can claim?

There is no fixed minimum at Kick — you can claim any amount that's Available to claim. Some other Australian cashback platforms require a $10 or $20 minimum balance before you can withdraw; Kick doesn't.

What about international bank accounts?

Kick currently pays out to Australian bank accounts via BECS, NZ accounts via local clearing, and US accounts via ACH. We don't pay out to other international accounts at this stage. Foreign-currency cashback can be converted to AUD on request, subject to a 2.5% manual conversion fee. More on when cashback becomes claimable.

Our Experience

We are a first-party cashback platform — we work directly with retailers rather than reselling another company's network. Our team negotiates cashback rates, manages partner relationships, and processes payments in-house. According to industry data published by IAB Australia, affiliate and cashback marketing represented over $1 billion in tracked Australian retail sales in 2024 (source: IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report). Kick Cashback is part of this growing sector and is committed to passing the majority of retailer commissions back to shoppers as cashback.

Our editorial team draws on direct experience working with major Australian retailers and global affiliate networks. We publish detailed cashback information, retailer terms, and shopping guides based on first-hand knowledge of how cashback tracking, attribution, and payments work. Where industry standards or regulatory guidance applies — such as the Australian Consumer Law administered by the ACCC, or the Privacy Act 1988 administered by the OAIC — we cite the relevant source so readers can verify our claims.
