Do I need an account?

Category: Getting Started

Yes — you need a free Kick Cashback account to earn cashback at any of the 650+ partner stores. The cashback your purchases generate is tracked back to a specific account, paid to that account, and then transferred to your bank from there. There's no anonymous or guest mode — without an account, the affiliate network has no record to attach the commission to and no cashback is recorded.

What's required to sign up?

The account itself takes about 30 seconds to create at kickpay.co. We ask for an email address and a password — that's it. No credit card, no phone number verification, no proof of ID at sign-up. We only collect bank details (BSB and account number) when you request your first payout, and we use those purely to send you the money via BECS. Full list of what we collect.

Why does the model require an account?

Cashback works because the affiliate network can match a click on your portal link to a confirmed sale at the retailer, and pay Kick the resulting commission. To then forward the cashback to a specific shopper, Kick needs a verified record of who that shopper is — that record is your account. Without it, there's no way to prove which clicks belong to which shoppers, no way to consolidate balances safely across multiple purchases, and no way to release a payout to the right bank account.

Is it really free?

Yes. Sign-up is free, the account is free to keep open indefinitely (active or dormant), and there's no fee on cashback you earn or on payouts you withdraw. Read the full breakdown of why Kick is free.

What if I want to delete the account later?

You can close the account and request data deletion at any time by emailing info@kickcashback.com. We retain the minimum information needed to satisfy Australian financial-record obligations, and the rest is deleted. Full account-closure walkthrough.

Can I share an account with my partner or housemate?

Each Kick Cashback account is intended for a single shopper, but partners or households can each open their own free account and earn cashback independently. Sharing one login is allowed but creates practical headaches at payout time (whose bank account, whose tax position) — most households open separate accounts. Full guidance on household accounts.

What about privacy and data security?

Your data is held in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We don't sell or rent personal data, we don't see your card details (the retailer handles payment), and we use industry-standard encryption for the small amount of data we do hold. Full data-security explainer.

Account vs no account — the practical difference

With a Kick Cashback account, every eligible purchase you make through the portal earns cashback that lands in your bank account in 1-3 business days. Without one, you pay the same price the retailer charges everyone else and get nothing back. The 30 seconds to sign up is the only "cost" of the entire system — and from that point, every online shop you do through the portal earns money back without any extra effort.

What if I'm not ready to sign up yet?

You can browse the stores directory, read the How It Works walkthrough, and dig into any of the long-form FAQ pages without an account. The account is only required when you actually want to start earning cashback on a purchase. More on browsing without an account.

Our Experience

We are a first-party cashback platform — we work directly with retailers rather than reselling another company's network. Our team negotiates cashback rates, manages partner relationships, and processes payments in-house. According to industry data published by IAB Australia, affiliate and cashback marketing represented over $1 billion in tracked Australian retail sales in 2024 (source: IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report). Kick Cashback is part of this growing sector and is committed to passing the majority of retailer commissions back to shoppers as cashback.

Our editorial team draws on direct experience working with major Australian retailers and global affiliate networks. We publish detailed cashback information, retailer terms, and shopping guides based on first-hand knowledge of how cashback tracking, attribution, and payments work. Where industry standards or regulatory guidance applies — such as the Australian Consumer Law administered by the ACCC, or the Privacy Act 1988 administered by the OAIC — we cite the relevant source so readers can verify our claims.
