How fast is my cashback confirmed?

Category: Portal Cashback (650+ Stores)

For most Kick Cashback purchases, the cashback moves from Pending to Available to claim within minutes of the retailer confirming your order. A small number of categories (notably travel, insurance and subscriptions) take longer because the retailer waits out their own cancellation or cooling-off windows before paying the affiliate commission. Here's the full picture of when to expect each stage.

The four-stage cashback lifecycle

  1. Earned (instant) — Your cashback is recorded against your account the moment you complete checkout after clicking through from the Kick Cashback portal.
  2. Pending (minutes to days) — The retailer holds the sale briefly to guard against returns, refunds and fraud.
  3. Available to claim (the moment Pending clears) — Your money is yours; you can request a payout to your bank account.
  4. Paid out (1-3 business days) — Once you request the payout, BECS direct credit lands in your Australian bank account.

Typical Pending durations by category

  • Fashion, footwear, beauty: minutes to a few hours. The retailer's checkout system reports the sale almost immediately.
  • Electronics, home & garden, food & drink: usually within hours, sometimes the same business day.
  • General retail (department stores, gifts, sport): usually within hours.
  • Telco / SIM activations: 30-90 days while the retailer waits for the new connection to bill its first invoice.
  • Insurance: 30-60 days after the cooling-off period ends.
  • Travel (flights, hotels, packages): 30-120 days after the travel date — see why travel takes longer.
  • Software subscriptions: 30-60 days after first billing.

Why is Kick faster than most cashback sites?

Many cashback platforms apply an additional artificial hold on top of the retailer's hold — they make you wait 30-90 days before you can withdraw, even after the retailer has confirmed the sale within hours. Kick removes that artificial layer. As soon as the retailer confirms the sale to the affiliate network, the cashback becomes Available to claim in your dashboard.

What can slow things down?

  • The retailer's confirmation system batches sales every few hours instead of in real time.
  • The order has been flagged for fraud review at the retailer (common with very large orders or first-time customers).
  • The order is being checked for return — the cashback unfreezes once the return window passes.
  • The affiliate network has a backlog (rare, but happens during big sale events like Black Friday).

How can I see the live status?

Sign in at kickpay.co and open your dashboard. Each cashback transaction shows the current stage, the date it was earned, and (for Pending items) the expected date it should clear. If something has been stuck in Pending well beyond the typical window for its category, email info@kickcashback.com and we'll lodge a query with the network.

What about cashback on returns or refunds?

Returns reduce or void the cashback for that order in proportion to what you actually keep — see how returns affect cashback. The change shows up in your dashboard once the affiliate network sees the refund.

Once it's Available, how fast can I get the money?

Request a payout in your dashboard. Funds typically land in your nominated Australian bank account in 1-3 business days via BECS. More on payout timing.

Our Experience

We are a first-party cashback platform — we work directly with retailers rather than reselling another company's network. Our team negotiates cashback rates, manages partner relationships, and processes payments in-house. According to industry data published by IAB Australia, affiliate and cashback marketing represented over $1 billion in tracked Australian retail sales in 2024 (source: IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report). Kick Cashback is part of this growing sector and is committed to passing the majority of retailer commissions back to shoppers as cashback.

Our editorial team draws on direct experience working with major Australian retailers and global affiliate networks. We publish detailed cashback information, retailer terms, and shopping guides based on first-hand knowledge of how cashback tracking, attribution, and payments work. Where industry standards or regulatory guidance applies — such as the Australian Consumer Law administered by the ACCC, or the Privacy Act 1988 administered by the OAIC — we cite the relevant source so readers can verify our claims.
