Can I shop on my phone and claim on my computer?
Category: Portal Cashback (650+ Stores)
Yes — your Kick Cashback account is the same on every device, so you can shop on your phone and request a payout on your laptop, or vice versa. The one rule that catches people out is about tracking, not claiming: a single shopping trip needs to start and finish on the same device, in the same browser session, in one go.
Why tracking is per-session, per-device
Affiliate tracking relies on a small cookie that's set in your browser the moment you click through from your Kick Cashback portal to the retailer. That cookie lives on the device you're using right then — it doesn't sync to your other devices, even if you're signed in to the same Kick Cashback account. So if you click through on your phone, drop the order into your phone's cart, then walk over to your laptop and finish checkout there, the laptop has no cookie that says "this purchase came from Kick Cashback" and the tracking fails.
Common cross-device patterns that break cashback
- Clicking through on your phone during your commute, then completing checkout on the laptop at home.
- Adding items to your phone cart, then opening the retailer on your work laptop and the cart "synced" via your retailer account — but the affiliate cookie didn't.
- Using a "send to Kindle" or "open on PC" feature on a phone after clicking through.
- Clicking through in a browser, then completing checkout in the retailer's mobile app.
What works fine
- Click through, browse, and check out — all in the same browser on the same device, in one session.
- Clicking through on a desktop and finishing on the same desktop, even if you took a break of a few minutes.
- Clicking through on the Kick mobile experience at kickpay.co in your phone browser, and completing checkout in the same browser.
- Requesting a payout on any device once your cashback is Available to claim — your account dashboard syncs across phone, tablet and desktop.
What about the retailer's mobile app vs their website?
Most retailers' tracking sets the cookie for their website only. If you click through from Kick Cashback to the website and then a "Open in app" prompt redirects you into the mobile app, the cookie is usually lost. Stay in the website to be safe. If you really want to use the app, complete the purchase in the website browser first.
Best practice: one session, one device, no tab-switching
The single most reliable habit is "browse, click, shop, pay" — all in one continuous session in one browser on one device. If you're interrupted, it's safer to start the shop again from your Kick Cashback portal than to try to pick up where you left off elsewhere. If cashback doesn't show up, our missing-cashback process can usually recover it.
Claiming and paying out
Once your cashback is Available to claim, you can request a bank transfer from any device — phone, tablet or desktop. Sign in to kickpay.co, go to your dashboard, and request the payout. Funds typically land in 1-3 business days via BECS to any nominated Australian bank account. More on payout timing here.
