How do I manage notification and email preferences?
Category: Your Account
You're in full control of which Kick Cashback emails and notifications you receive. Preferences are managed from your account settings at kickpay.co, and changes take effect immediately. The only category that can't be switched off is transactional email — emails about your money, your security, and your active claims — because we have to keep you informed about activity on your account.
How to update your preferences
- Sign in at kickpay.co.
- Open Account → Settings → Notifications.
- Toggle each category on or off, then save.
If you'd rather not sign in, every marketing email Kick Cashback sends includes a one-click Unsubscribe link in the footer. Clicking that link removes you from all marketing categories, in line with the Spam Act 2003.
What's transactional vs marketing
Transactional (always on while your account is open):
- Cashback Earned and Available-to-claim alerts.
- Payout requested, processing, and completed confirmations.
- Account security events — login from a new device, password change, claim limit changes.
- Multi-factor authentication codes for high-value claims.
- Mandatory legal notices — privacy policy or terms updates.
Marketing (you choose):
- New retailer additions to the portal.
- Boosted-rate promotions and seasonal sales.
- Tips on getting the most cashback.
- Newsletter with platform updates.
Push and SMS notifications
If you've added a phone number for multi-factor authentication, we'll send SMS only for transactional reasons (a code to confirm a high-value claim, an alert about a security event). Marketing SMS is opt-in only and can be turned off at any time from the same settings page or by replying STOP to any marketing message.
Browser push notifications
If you previously allowed browser push notifications and want to disable them, you can either toggle them off in your Kick Cashback settings or revoke browser permission directly: in Chrome go to Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Notifications and remove kickcashback.com.au from the allowed list.
Why we can't turn off transactional emails
Transactional emails are operational notices that you're entitled to receive about your money. Banks send them, the ATO sends them, every legitimate financial-adjacent service sends them. They're exempt from spam-style opt-out rules under the Spam Act 2003 precisely because they exist to keep you informed and secure.
Want to stop everything?
If you want all communication to stop, the cleanest path is to close your account and request data deletion. Once the account is closed, transactional email stops automatically.
