What are the requirements?
Category: For Businesses
To partner with Kick Cashback as a merchant, you need to be a registered Australian business with a working online store, an active affiliate-network account (or willingness to set one up), and the standard Australian Consumer Law compliance every legitimate retailer already maintains. Kick is open to retailers of any size, from independent shops with a few hundred orders a month to enterprise brands processing thousands a day. The list below is what we check before approving a new partner.
Core business requirements
- Registered Australian business with valid ABN. We verify the ABN against the Australian Business Register before going live.
- Working online store. Functional checkout, real product catalogue, ability to fulfil orders. We don't list dropshipping landing pages or affiliate-redirect storefronts.
- Australian audience focus. You ship to Australia, accept AUD, and your customer support is reachable from Australian time zones. International retailers serving Australians are also welcome — Booking.com, Adidas and others are partner stores.
- Published refund and returns policy. Visible from the homepage or footer of your site, written in plain English, and consistent with Australian Consumer Law.
- Customer support contact reachable by email or phone, with response within a reasonable window.
Affiliate network requirements
Kick tracks sales and processes commission through the major Australian affiliate networks — Awin, Commission Factory, Impact, Rakuten and Partnerize. To partner with Kick, you need an active programme on at least one of these networks (or be willing to join one as part of onboarding). The network handles the underlying tracking infrastructure: cookies, click attribution, sale confirmation, commission payment.
If you're not yet on an affiliate network, the Kick partnerships team can recommend the right one for your category and introduce you to a network manager. Network setup typically takes 5-15 business days and has its own onboarding requirements (technical integration, commission rate negotiation, content policy review).
Consumer protection and trust requirements
- Compliance with Australian Consumer Law — accurate product descriptions, no misleading claims, honoured guarantees.
- Privacy compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles, including a published privacy policy.
- Secure checkout on HTTPS, with PCI-compliant payment processing (handled by your payment provider, not by you directly).
- No deceptive pricing — strikethrough "was" prices must reflect a genuine prior selling price.
Operational requirements
- Capacity to honour orders. If you're new to selling online or scaling fast, make sure you can fulfil promised lead times.
- Process for handling refunds and chargebacks. Affiliate networks reverse the commission when an order is refunded; you'll need to handle that within network rules.
- A point of contact at your business for the Kick partnerships team — usually a marketing or e-commerce lead.
What we don't require
- A minimum monthly sales volume.
- An exclusive cashback partnership (you can also list with Cashrewards, ShopBack, etc.).
- Upfront fees, retainers, or "premium placement" payments.
- A bricks-and-mortar storefront. Pure-play online retailers are welcome.
Categories Kick is selective about
Some categories require additional checks before approval — gambling, payday lending, adult products, and unregulated supplements are typically declined or routed through a manual review. If you're in a regulated category (financial services, telco, insurance) you'll usually need to demonstrate your AFSL, ACL or other relevant licence as part of onboarding.
How to apply
Email info@kickcashback.com with your business name, ABN, website URL, the affiliate network you're on, and a short note on what categories you sell. The partnerships team will respond within 1-2 business days. Self-service merchants can also onboard directly at kickpay.co/merchant/login. Full partnership overview, and see what it costs.
